Meant to support unchanging stability in one’s meditation and auspicious connection with Shakyamuni Buddha, this unique meditation mat, made from cotton wool, has two types of kusha grass woven into its interior, and features the symbol of that which is unchanging, the yungdrung. It was upon a seat of kusha grass underneath a bodhi tree that the Buddha realized Enlightenment, and thus when sitting upon this mat during our meditation practice, we create tendrel, or auspicious connection, and make the aspiration to realize complete Enlightenment as the Buddha has done.
The meditation mat is made in Gheri cotton, a traditional Nepalese method of handloom weaving high strength cotton threads to create material that is made to withstand the extreme conditions of the Himalayas and thus very durable and can be easily rolled up for travelling or storing.
