Mahakali, known as Palden Lhamo in Tibetan, is a wrathful female deity considered to be principal protectress of Tibet. She is the only female among the traditional 'Eight Guardians of the Law' and is usually depicted as deep blue in colour and with red hair to symbolise her wrathful nature, crossing a sea of blood riding side-saddle on a white mule.
This incense was made by Amji Kunsang, a Tibetan Medicine doctor from Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery. We obtained special female protectress blessing substances from Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche, which Amji Kunsang then mixed with traditional Tibetan herbs to make this authentic Mahakali protector incense.
