Khata is a traditional ceremonial scarf in Tibetian culture. The khata symbolizes purity and compassion and is worn or presented with incense at ceremonial occasions, including births, weddings, funerals, graduations and the arrival or departure of guests. When given to arriving guests, it symbolizes welcome. When given as a farewell gesture, it symbolizes a safe journey. It is an honor for a person to be presented with khata as it is a genuine act of blessing and good will.
However, the environmental impact of khata is emerging as a serious problem as many are made of synthetic, non degradable materials. As an alternative solution, our BIODEGRADABLE KHATA, is made from eco-friendly, biodegradable bamboo and cotton blend. This KHATA helps to lessen our environmental footprint as we offer them to others. The BIODEGRADABLE KHATA has eight auspicious symbols printed on it.
It is produced in Nepal by a women-led business that gives back a portion of the proceeds toward various social causes.
